Blogger Question

I think I already know the answer to this question, but I figured I'd ask anyway just in case my more experienced Blogger friends had a different answer. Some friends' blogs are private, which I completely understand. I have no problems viewing their blogs, but they don't show up in my dashboard, obviously because they're private. So my question: is there any other way to know when they've posted a new blog, other than simply checking their blog sporadically? Thanks!
