Since she's been born, Olivia has slept pretty well, I would say. For the first six weeks or so, Nick and I would "put her to sleep" either by rocking, feeding, jiggling, whatever. Then we discovered (or remembered) that we should just put her in her crib sleepy but awake and let her fall asleep on her own, and voila! sleeping baby. She would wake up a few times each night, then it decreased to one or two times a night, and a few random nights, she would go through bouts of sleeping five to six to seven hours, which technically should be considered sleeping through the night (even if it is 4 am when she woke up).
Well anyway, last night was a milestone. She slept for... wait for it... 10 hours straight! We put her down at 9 pm and I had to wake her up at 7 to feed her and get ready to go. I can hardly believe it. I realize this could be a fluke, and it's very possible that she will wake up in the middle of the night tonight, but I also know that this a big step in our journey to a solid schedule and a time in the future when we can put both kids to bed and have some time for ourselves. You forget just how awesome it is to sleep for 7 hours at a time until you don't get to do it regularly. My little baby is growing up.
And not at all related, here's a photo just because it's the most recent one I've taken. Carter didn't want to leave Rachel and Ryan's house on Saturday after the football game; he wanted to play with the pum-a-kins instead. So Mommy took his picture.
